Although it is well-known that Sarasota houses a plethora of amazing finds for the home, I thought I would focus on my top 5 favorites of the week to get you motivated.
#1 Stop on by Light Up Your Life for the amazing Manhattan fixture. It features blown, Murano glass in a modern display of steel and bubbles which suspend artfully from the ceiling. This fixture is both modern in design and lends itself to the Venetian glass of yesteryear. It is also great as a eco-friendly lighting option with its low-energy halogen spotlights.
#2 Another Sarasota staple, Rugs as Art, provides unique rugs which are simply art. To add color and interest to a usually ignored plane of your space, try ordering a hand-knotted, custom Iranian Gabbeh rug; created with colors of your choosing. Where else can you find a hand-made, one-of-a-kind piece of art for only $65 a square foot?
#3 The iconic Arne Jacobsen did a great service to the world in creating the timeless Egg chair in 1958. Today this piece can be seen in tv commercial ads, celebrity homes, and hip hotels. Why not make your’s one to remember in one of 50 available patchwork, 50th anniversary designs. As usual, the best place for designer furniture, the Home Resource, has it.
#4 Baccarat is well-known for their over-indulgent crystal chandeliers which, although breathtaking, may not suite the style of your more relaxed Sarasota beach home. The answer for Baccarat elegance in any space? A simplified wine decanter, complete with the company’s signature red crystal accent; now in the form of a simplified clown face. Cheeky and useful.
#5 This last one is a little over the top. Remember those adjustable, alien-like, crazy Kohler sprinkler shower head contraptions? Well, those are out. What is in is the new LED Sparkle shower screen: a full, stand-alone screen with sparkling lights. The effect lets you feel like you are showering with the night sky where you are the star. You can begin updating your bathroom at Atmoshperes Kitchen and Bath Artistry Inc.

I’d like to see a picture of a shower head with LED lights! What in the “BLEEP” were the industrial designers thinking when they came up with that one!? hahahahaha!

I will look for the picture I found- it was from a magazine.
